Introduction

At the Asfari Foundation, we are committed to driving social, economic, and educational development across the Levant region. Through our diverse grant-making programmes, we empower civil society organisations, social entrepreneurs, and displaced communities to address critical challenges and achieve sustainable, long-term change. Our programmes provide financial support, technical assistance, and capacity-building resources, enabling individuals and organisations to maximise their impact. Below is an overview of each of our core programmes.

Tabadol

Tabadol is a dynamic programme designed to support rising social entrepreneurs and civil society organisations. It offers a comprehensive package of financial support, mentorship, training, and networking opportunities to foster innovation and sustainability. Tabadol empowers participants by providing them with the tools and knowledge needed to enhance their capacities and create meaningful, lasting social change within their communities. Through collaboration and knowledge-sharing, this programme helps emerging leaders and organisations expand their influence and scale their impact.

Asfari Challenge for Social Innovation

The Asfari Challenge for Social Innovation is a unique initiative aimed at supporting early-stage social entrepreneurs who are developing innovative solutions to societal problems in the Levant region. Through a competitive selection process, participants pitch their ideas and, if chosen, receive funding, mentorship, and resources to help scale their projects. This challenge nurtures creativity and problem-solving, empowering social innovators to transform their concepts into sustainable ventures that drive positive change in their communities.

Influencing and Political Acumen Programme

The Influencing and Political Acumen Programme is designed to enhance the strategic thinking and advocacy skills of professionals working in civil society organisations. Combining online and in-person learning, the programme covers essential influencing strategies, contextual civil society issues, and practical skill-building. Participants receive mentorship from experts and develop influencing proposals tailored to their organisations' goals. Select proposals may even qualify for additional grant funding, enabling participants to turn their strategies into actionable projects that advocate for meaningful social change.

Refugee Education

The Refugee Education programme seeks to address the educational needs of displaced populations in the Levant, particularly those living in host countries with limited resources. This initiative focuses on developing alternative learning models, such as vocational training and non-formal tertiary education, to provide refugees with pathways to develop essential skills and realise their potential. By supporting refugees in rebuilding their futures and contributing to their host communities, this programme aims to create opportunities for empowerment and social integration, ultimately helping displaced individuals shape their own futures with hope and purpose.
